Fixing Session Open Event

Bring us your tired, your poor, your broken electronics, and we will help you fix them!

We joined forces with Vincent of Fixers Collective NYC to bring you a unique hack night where you learn to bring technology back from the brink.

Fixing it yourself is more than just saving money. It's sustainable and breaks the cycle of consumption. It gives you more intimate knowledge of your property and builds a sense of ownership. Mostly, it's just more fun to solder that capacitor yourself than wait four hours for the Geek Squad to say you need a new $400 motherboard.

Nothing to fix? Come anyways. You can deconstruct donated equipment, learn salvage and rework techniques, get a peek inside extremely unconventional hardware, or simply work on your side project.

This event is also an excellent time to donate old equipment for the MakerBar. Please don't donate computers, phones, or networking equipment - they don't get used and are difficult to dispose.

Disclaimer: No one in this event is a professional. Hack at your own risk and be prepared to do more harm than good to your device. We guarantee absolutely nothing and take no responsibility for anything that happens to yourself or your property. We will not fix things for you - we're helping you fix them. Hardware problems only; tech support will not be given unless you bring us a lot of beer. You will certainly void any warranty on anything you fix yourself.

The Fixing Session is free for everybody and runs every fourth Wednesday. The event is led by Vincent Lai and organized by Zack Freedman.
