We will be starting from the ground up with this one, so be ye not afraid.
The shop is a dangerous place, but you'll learn how keep all your digits and safely hack with professional equipment in this unique workshop. We will go over how the tools and machines work, general techniques and safety, fasteners (screws, bolts, etc.), important things to keep in mind, and more if we have time.
There will be a short written test and a practical "exam" requiring each attendee to use a number of basic tools and machines in order to make a part based on a drawing. Successful completion will earn an official MakerBar 3D printed token confirming that you passed the Level I Shop Course.
Course fee will be $30 for all non-members plus a $20 materials fee for all attendees.
Jordan De Liso is a mechanical design engineer by day, a found-object artist and musician by night, and MakerBar's shop manager the rest of the time. This class is Jordan's entry for Zack's Class Challenge, and we are now accepting RSVPs!
