I like to see how folks are able to bend tech to their will, not being limited to what the creator may have intended. My current fascination is with the whole 3D printer/makerbot area. I believe this is going to be the most disruptive tech of the next 10 years, and for once, I'd like to be ahead of the curve instead of behind it. I also would like to participate in any father/son (or daughter!) focused activities, like the upcoming soldering/TV-B-Gone project. Also, the arduino/raspberry pi boards as learning tools
Well, not a maker by nature, but I have done a lot with my home theater/TV/networking. I installed fonz fun plug on my fileserver, and it acts as a media server to my TVs, PCs, and android devices. I jailbreaked (?) my appletv 2 and installed XBMC on it so I have a beautiful movie library not limited to only what you can buy through Apple's store. I installed DD-WRT on my routers to allow me to bridge my wi-fi signal throughout my home and connect devices that would not normally have wireless connectivity. I'd gladly share any expertise I might have on these topics.

My son Miles and I are just getting started with soldering, arduinos and Nerf Blaster modding.
