I have built a team of robots (4 bots) to do chemical analysis of substances in a container. Each robot is equipped with certain sensors to perform some aspect of that task. For example, I have a robot that has a temperature and color sensor, and another one has a pH sensor. They are also equipped with ultrasonic, compass, and touch sensors to navigate an area and locate the container. I have them perform simple chemical experiments. I replace some of the sensors with sensors that measure pressure, conductivity, etc. I am designing new experiments to utilize these sensors. I also like to build the robots. I have looked at allot of designs for robot arms and end effectors. I am anxious to come up with my own design from what I have looked at. The new EV3 microcontroller is great! But I am having problems using it with my current crop of sensors and leJos. I may have to get the new sensors for the EV3 to see what it can do.
I am a software and visualization engineer at Ctest Laboratories and Advanced Software Construction. I enjoy collecting robots, building and programming them. I have several Mindstorms Robotics and Tetrix kits. I program in C++ and Java.
