Electric Waste Orchestra

Electrical Engineers and Electronic Musicians - come to Makerspace Urbana on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month, 7 - 9 PM.

We have all the tools to re-assemble discarded computer parts (harddrives, video cards, etc) into musical instruments using open-source hardware and software (Arduino, Pure Data)

We'll find ways to manipulate the voltage flowing through circuitboards, and use those signals to make music! We'll share the instructions on the internet, so anyone else can recreate what we come up with!

Thanks Jeff, Jeff, Chris and our new friend Ben for hanging out! We went through the basics of Pure Data, I showed off my harddrive instrument, and we fiddled with peizo-electret sensors, a.k.a. contact microphones. Jeff is going to be making DIY drum pads - very exciting projects!
