My name is Sean, and I am a c# developer in Cambridge who is interested in learning how to make things and doing some recreational (and social!) programming on the side.
I am a developer with a side interest in everything from languages and trivia, who watches far too much telly.
I've just moved to Cambridge and although I don't yet know how to make things, I am interested in doing so. I could contribute by learning things quickly (but unfortunately I am crap with my hands) and would be great as a source of knowledge, a book reader (for those who don't like books) or as a programmer / designer type person.
I didn't... there is one based on Java, and one on Python. I think you can follow it using .NET if preferred, and that the Python one will actually teach you the basics of Python too (enough for the course). When I read the description, the Java one depends on an understanding of Java first (not something I can claim to have).
Hi Sean, Glad you made it!!!
I've been thinking of arranging a weekly study session to follow the online training course that 10gen provide... as you admit to having no experience with it, would that interest you?
It would probably be a regular night each week for the next few weeks and trying to get four-five people involved (the less experienced Mongos like ourselves).
