First Friday Shabbat Service

The first Friday of each month is EnCHANTing Shabbat led by Rabbi Monty Turner and Cantorial Soloist Mitzi Schwarz, along with other Makom musicians. This includes prayer, lots of beautiful music with audience participation encouraged (rhythm instruments will be passed out), meditation, and sometimes, chanting of the Torah, in a cantillation method inspired by Reb Zalman Schachter-Shalomi, with the English translation sung with creative commentary. Services begin at 7:30 pm in our regular sanctuary location. Children are always welcome in the service. Childcare is provided if we are given 24 hours notice. The service will be followed by an Oneg Shabbat serving fruit, dessert, and shmoozing in the social hall.

I will try to make it. I have to care for my grandson until early evening.

Hate to miss our wonderful service, but we'll be driving back from the annual Rainbow Gathering in Montana, and probably won't reach home in time. See you at the next one!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
