*£1 Concessions (Senior citizens, Armed Forces, Emergency Services Personnel, NHS Staff, Full Time Students) on presentation of valid identification.

The Manchester Beer & Cider Festival is an exciting new event coming to the city in January 2014. It will take centre stage in the Velodrome of the National Cycling Centre, home to Team GB’s fantastically successful Olympic cyclists from Wednesday 22nd – Saturday 25th January.

The main bars will be on the Velodrome floor surrounded by the famous banked track which will remain in use during the festival. As you enjoy your pint, there is every chance that medal winning cyclists will be whizzing round you as they train for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

It is just over a week away The venue is the amazing Velodrome
The Velodrome has its own tram station (Velopark), loads of buses and for the healthy or hopefully healthy, it is only a leisurely half hour walk along the Ashton Canal from town. You can even do your shopping on the way home at the nearby Asda..i often do...

The quickest way to travel to the festival is via Metrolink. The Centre has its own Metrolink station – Velopark. The station is on the East Manchester line running from Bury to Ashton-Under-Lyne via Manchester City Centre. Passengers can connect from services from Altrincham and Eccles at Manchester Piccadilly or Piccadilly Gardens, and services from East Didsbury, Chorlton, Oldham and Rochdale at Market Street.

Follow the signs from the station to the bridge over the Ashton canal – the centre is straight ahead of you.

Passengers presenting a valid Metrolink ticket on Wednesday and Thursday will receive £1 discount on entry to the festival (not valid in conjunction with any other offer).

For details of ticket prices and service frequencies, see www.metrolink.co.uk
