Described on the "Didsbury Life" web page as "our lovely independent bo-ho bar on Burton Road", this small bar in fashionable "West Didsbury", opened in 2011, is now well established. Champions of independent brewers, the bar offers a range of cask ales as well as a wide selection of foreign beers.
Sunday nights see the bar host an evening of live acoustic music from 9pm onwards, so some gentle sounds to help the beer go down....
Featured act for 4 May is Bells-in-the-Birches:
"Helen Riley is the singer-songwriter, guitarist, violin and viola player behind Bells in the Birches. A classically trained musician, with an eclectic musical taste, Helen spent her early career playing in string quartets, orchestras, rock and folk bands before being recruited to play viola, violin and sing backing vocals in Manchester Americana group, (Bob Harris favourites), Blind Atlas. Their split in 2012 provided the catalyst to start her solo project.
With bluesy vocals, swinging rhythms and poignant lyrics, Bells in the Birches offer a quirky and emotive blend of US and UK musical styles." (Soundcloud)
