If I had all the money I've spent on beer — I'd spend it on beer....

Welcome to the Manchester Pubs and Beer Meetup group!
This is a group for anyone who likes to visit pubs and who values our unique pub heritage. You may well enjoy trying different beers, ciders and perries, or you may prefer wine or soft drinks- all are welcome if you enjoy socialising in interesting pubs and bars.
There are generally at least two events each month, including socials based in one pub, pub crawls, pub jazz nights and a pub quiz. We also have had the odd brewery visit, and days out to nearby towns and cities easily reached by train, including Liverpool, York and Shrewsbury. We try to visit local beer festivals, including those at Bury, Stockport, and the winter Manchester beer festival, but there is usually a beer festival of some type on most months.
New events/Meetup emails
Members are welcome to suggest events too- just click on "Suggest an event" or click on "Contact Us".If you prefer, you can message me via the Meetup messaging system first.
Do check the site for new events- they are added regularly! Meetup generates a lot of emails, which can be overwhelming! I'd suggest that, in "Email and notifications" (under "My profile") you tick the following boxes: "New Meetup scheduled", "Changes to a Meetup I'm going to" and "New comments on a Meetup I'm going to". In "Reminders" check the box "Once a day" and tick "Announcement about a specific Meetup" and "Announcement to members about the group" (such"announcements" are not common!).
The group is for people who enjoy sensible drinking, enjoy beer and enjoy pubs. There are few rules other than that you are old enough to drink legally, but we expect members to treat each other and the places we visit with respect and courtesy at all times.
As with other Meetup groups, the aim is to bring people together with a common interest. The Meetup group and Meetup itself take no responsibility for members' actions- you participate in events entirely at your own risk!
Do take a look at our forthcoming events and RSVP to any you'd like to come along to. A warm welcome awaits!
