The Manchester Buddhism Sangha is offering weekly Buddhist meditation and discussion sessions. These take place on Friday evenings, from 6:45 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Anyone with an interest in beginning or continuing their Buddhist practice is welcome to attend. These meetings will honor all Buddhist traditions. Attendance is free, but if you wish to make a small donation to help defray the expenses for renting the room, that will be appreciated. Please arrive between 6:30-6:45 p.m. (due to security requirements, the door will be locked promptly at 6:50 p.m.)
Other: Please bring your own cushion for meditation, and please remove your shoes in the meditation room. Chairs will be available for anyone who cannot sit on the floor.
- 6:55 p.m. - Bell
- Opening chant
- Silent meditation – 30 minutes
- Closing chant
- Short break
- Dharma teaching followed by discussion (light refreshments provided)
- 8:30 p.m. – meeting ends
Please note: The texts of the chants will be provided, and the discussion session will generally involve listening to an audio dharma talk. On occasion we will read from a short published dharma teaching.
