Welcome to the North Manchester West African Drum Circle where you can meet other local people who are interested in learning to play traditional West African Rhythms both on Djembe and Dun Dun. We meet every Wednesday Evening for a Workshop where facilitators Chris and Craig teach the beginners class. We focus on 1 Rhythm for 4 or 5 weeks in order to learn all the supports, breaks and for the more advanced students solo phrases. The cost per session is £6/£5 Concession and £1 Drum hire if you haven't got your own drum. We meet between 7 30 and 9 30 at Heaton Park British Legion, Bury Old Rd, opposite Heaton Park, Regular Members of our Wednesday workshop who have attained a good level of playing are invited to join us on Tue evening at our studio in Salford where we have a full band practice at a level neccessary for Performances, and students will also learn to play Dun Duns. Tuesdays are free to regular members who have reached the required level. Drumming is a whole lotta fun and is a great social event where many lasting frienships are made so if your not sure bite the bullet and come to our Wednesday workshop and see for yourself.
