Unpretention Presents Attrition @Sacred Trinity

The Band
ATTRITION are pioneers in a darker electronica...Carving out a unique slice of the creative underground for over two decades, fueled by a succession of critically acclaimed albums...selling over 50,000 to date...the band has toured all Europe and North America, Mexico and Asia, appeared at major festivals and had their music included on a number of film soundtracks....
Formed in 1980 by Martin Bowes and Julia Waller in Coventry, England, influenced by a mix of punk ideology and experimental art aesthetics, they emerged as part of the early '80's UK Industrial scene alongside contemporaries Test Department, Coil, Legendary Pink dots, In The Nursery, Portion Control et al.
Their music is an undefinable marriage of dark and light...of futures and pasts...probing unexplored sonic landscapes with an eclectic marriage of experimental and traditional sound, of electronics and acoustics, of male and female....
Attrition are kindly waiving their hire charge

The Entertainment

DJ sets from various established manchester dj's including Krow (ArA) Laconizein (MGL)

The Charity

The Booth Centre is an activities and advice based day centre in Manchester which enables homeless people to rebuild their lives.
We aim

* To provide a safe and welcoming environment for people who are homeless.
* To empower people to make informed choices and make positive changes in their lives.
* To provide positive experiences in order to help people to build self respect and self confidence and to look to the future.

We do this through;

* Providing a drop-in and activity centre for people who are homeless.
* Offering advice to help people resolve their problems.
* Providing a base for activities which are creative, therapeutic, challenging and enjoyable.
* Giving people help to move on to education, training, employment and positive recreational activities in the community.

The Venue

Sacred Trinity Church (Corner of Blackfriars Road and Chapel St) is a gorgeous space in the heart of the city. We are a vibrant community and home to many different groups. The Sunday congregation is small but friendly and welcoming of newcomers. We are the oldest Church in the original City of Salford, first built in 1635, but we are also very contemporary. As well as Sunday Services we are host to many gigs, to a regular Goth night and to many exhibitions through the year.
Yes that is where ArA is run so Kolyn would like us to point out that this is an arrangment between the church and The Stygian Cabal and is not an ArA Event
For this event there will be a Fully Stocked Bar at the Church
