The event starts at 6 pm but I suggest that we meet up a little before that. Ikea needs to know the numbers at least a couple of days before the event, so that they'll reserve a table for us. I don't know how popular this will be, so please rsvp early as I then can give them approximately numbers.
This is the menu, copied from an email I got from Ikea:
Course One – fish starter: Herrings in Mustard Herring with Onion Matjes Herring - Garnish with fresh dill and in small bowls on the side; offer lemon wedges, sour cream and chopped red onions. Platter of Gravadlax garnished with dill sauce Platter of Smoked Salmon garnished with Horseradish sauce Whole shrimps on a bed of lettuce Half boiled eggs topped with cod roe and seaweed
Course Two – Meats & Cheese: Platter of thinly sliced roast beef – with a bowl on the side offer organic mustard Platter of sliced turkey breast – with a bowl on the side offer Lingonberries Platter of sliced cooked Christmas ham – with a small bowl on the side offer mild mustard and apple sauce Platter of sliced Swedish Cheese Small bowls of sliced Elk sausage
Course Three – Salads: Make sure there is plenty of bowls of green leaf salad plus big bowls of: Potato and Chive Salad Beetroot, Carrot & Pumpkin Seeds Coleslaw Israeli Couscous with Roasted Butternut Squash Sliced pickled Gherkins
Course Four – Hot Food: Meatballs Janssons Temptation Fresh boiled / steamed Potatoes with chopped fresh dill Small Prinsvorv sausage Warm Red Cabbage Cheese Pie BBQ Ribs Warm Swedish Apple Pie and custard
Course Five – Desserts: Chocolate Krokant Cake Christmas Cake (all cut to smaller portions) Punchrulle, Delicato Cakes Fresh Fruit Salad bowl served with fresh whipped Cream Mince Pies Freshly baked Lusekatt buns Ginger Biscuits – served from Christmas tin
Price: £5 for IKEA FAMILY members, adults £9.50, children 12 and under £4.50
