I wouldn't worry too much, I'll be covering lambdas starting with the basic syntax and carrying on from there.
I agree, you'll be fine.
Just to elaborate on the talk a little: I'll be following on from where Roberto left off last month with his Lambda introduction (with a brief recap!). Covering the new interface methods, Functional Interfaces then plenty of Lambda use cases including the different method reference types. Finally Streams, more streams, Optional and plenty of examples!
