Holiday rescheduling - Sunday Word Games Meetup!

To make sure we get our fix of word games in at the holidays (but not necessarily ON the holidays), let's meet the Sunday between Christmas eve and New Years eve, both of which fall on Tuesdays this year.

I was trying to post a picture of angel hair but it doesn't seem to take. Here's a link so you can see it. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41o3ZKpdJ4L.jpg

It's used for snow in decorations. It's very pretty and very soft; it resembles cotton candy.

    Now you know.

We had a total of eight, including Elaine's friend Eileen. Elaine, Maggie and I won One Word. Follow The Letter had answers that made the game go too long. The blue team (Jack & Damon) and the red team (Angela & Eileen) were tied. Elaine won Wordie Wars. We had a tie score in the Christmas Trivia game. Angela won the first game of Snatch It. I left when the second game was being played.

Happy New Year to all. See you at the next MWG meetup on January 7.

Come early -- at 12 noon -- if you'd like to co-solve a variety cryptic crossword and look at other word puzzles in a recent issue of the Enigma, the monthly newsletter of the National Puzzlers' League (the world's oldest active word puzzle organization). Details about the NPL and sample puzzles are at http://www.puzzlers.org/dokuwiki/doku.php

If anyone is planning to come early, let me know (either by messaging me through meetup or by replying to this post) and I'll print a beginner's variety cryptic for us to cosolve. Otherwise, we're doing this one: http://www.math.uchic...

Sounds like fun. Not sure if I can make it early, though. If so, I'll let you know.

I'll have a couple of new word games to spring on all of you. Looking forward to it.
