I am the only GIS profession at my company and I would like to get out and meet other cartographers so I won't be working in a bubble. I'd also like to learn some new skills like how to utilize and contribute to Open Street Map and how to create web maps.
I'm working on a large plotted map of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. Would love to talk to others about labeling strategies and other data sources to add to the map.
I've been very interested in bringing GIS functions like layers and geographic measurements to the PDF format and would be excited to share some of that information with other and learn how to streamline that process.
Some of the more "realistic" maps that the National Park Service has produced over the several years have really caught my eye. http://www.shadedrelief.com/realism/wigwam.jpg
GIS professional in the environmental consulting business. Primarily interested in the cartographic aspects of the profession but want to learn more about data management and programming as well.
