Learn, play drums and celebrate community

My next drum class will be the 4th Friday in May, May 23rd.
I plan to do another class, Friday June 6th and then I will be taking a break and probably resuming the class sometime in July.
More info about these classes at the end of this message.

A good friend and excellent drum teacher, Robert Wallace is hosting a fabulous 4 day drum. A great chance to have fun and learning a lot about african, brazilian and world rhythms. For more info visit:

My Band MAML will be amongst many bands playing a benefit for a great activist and friend, Deb Hubsmith on Friday May 16th.
(Peri's in Fairfax. I will be playing from 9:30-10:20)
For more info visit:

These classes will be located at the Marin Fencing Academy, 827 4th St. (near Lincoln) in San Rafael from 7-9pm.
(Look for Mike's Bikes across the street).

$10-$20 sliding scale donation, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. (Children may attend $5-10)
RSVP is appreciated, but drop-ins are also fine.
It's best if you can bring your own drum, but I will have plenty of extra drums available.

PARKING can be tricky. If your having trouble finding a place, you can drop you drum off inside the back entrance to the Fencing Academy. This door is usually left open at least until a little past 7pm.
You can find it on the north side of the parking lot at 3rd St. and Cijos St. I would suggest you then take your car to the Citi-Bank parking lot located at 4th St. and Tamalpais, over near HWY 101, 2.5 blocks away.

I'm hoping we can build a thriving drumming community here in Marin.
The session are a mix of basic instruction and creative exploration and very beginner friendly.
I can also make it challenging for those of you that are ready for it.
All types of hand drums are welcome and I have plenty of extra drums available.
Feel free to pass this email along to others who might be interested.

I have over 20 years experience facilitating drumming in a number of
settings and love the energy and sense of unity that happens when we create rhythms
