We will hike on Bootjack, TCC and the Dipsea and Alpine Trail. This is a royal forest hike, exploring dense woods east of Pantoll, through groves of red woods, Douglas fir and bay. Photos included as words can't do this hike justice. Most of this hike is shaded. I've hiked these trails in bright sun, thick fog, and rain it's always a delight! These trails have been closed for nearly nine months for trail and bridge repairs. I can hardly wait to visit this wonderful place with you again!
Elevation change: 500'
Difficulty: 5 moderately steep in places, Alpine Trail filled with redwood roots and a little tricky but a lot of fun and worth the effort!
Approximate duration of hike, meditation teachings and our Feast is 3+ hours.
The Exotic Movable Feast:
This feast idea was the inspiration of Mindful Hiker Andrew Di Genova. Here is how it works. We all bring something for ourselves to eat and something to share. I encourage you to bring foods that are unique to your culture or individual tastes. At the midway point in our hike, in a beautiful location, we prepare for our “Exotic Movable Feast”. Then we all share the wonderful exotic foods that each of us brought.
All hikes are offered by Devi Somers on a 'by donation' basis. Suggested donation for hikes $10.00. There is also a $8.00 parking fee at this location. Carpooling is encouraged in order to be environmentally conscious, to lesson the impact on parking lots and to share the entrance fee.
Carpool time: 9:30 we leave at 9:45 sharp!
Carpool Location: Shore Line Shopping Center 217 Shoreline Highway Mill Valley 94941
