China Camp Public Forum

Hello Marin Mtbers-
I know a lot of you frequently ride at China Camp and I thought that you might be interested in attending the Public Forum regarding China Camp. This is your chance to help shape the future of the trails.

MCBC invites you to a China Camp State Park informational meeting on April 2 at 6:30 PM in San Rafael – learn and ask questions about our beloved local park.

In 2012, a successful community fund-raising effort led by the non-profit Friends of China Camp (FOCC) kept China Camp State Park from being closed due to State budget cuts. Now, as park operator, FOCC has contracted with California State Parks (CSP) to provide personnel at the park, and the two organizations are actively working to improve and protect park resources, including its multi-use trails and sensitive habitats.

Mountain bikers, the largest group of China Camp trail users, are keenly interested in the park’s management. With a new trail fee/pass program, trail repairs, and other initiatives underway, MCBC joins FOCC in inviting cyclists, equestrians, hikers, runners and other park friends to hear about how the park is operated, current and future plans for the park, and to ask questions and provide thoughts and input.

Please attend this initial public forum – all are welcome! Meeting location: Tamalpais Room, San Rafael Corporate Center, 750 Lindaro St., San Rafael.

I've been hearing a lot of different rumors circulating about the future of mountain bike trails at China Camp. This is an opportunity for the mtb community that utilizes China Camp to voice concerns and give constructive feedback. Its forums like these that will help us build relationships and gain more access throughout Marin.
