Topic: Transitioning from Java to XQuery
Robert Rudin covers how a Java-centric development team evolved from attempting to build a system using MarkLogic and mostly Java to building a system using MarkLogic and mostly XQuery. He'll discuss how this transition was accomplished, along with the important roles that Java still plays.
Robert Rudin leads a team of 20 software developers on a contract in Herndon, VA. His main job duties include analyzing user needs, designing solutions, and writing a lot of automated tests and a lot of code. He started at Lockmart in 1998 as a developer, had a couple stints at small companies, and joined Boeing in 2001. He enjoys leading development teams, writing user stories, writing code (especially tests), writing in general, and naming things as precisely as possible.
Please RSVP so that we can pre-print badges and know how much food to order
