Hey Folks,

You are cordially invited to attend our Big Data roadshow at the Washington Marriott Metro Center on Wednesday, June 19.

This no-cost, half-day event kicks off at 8am with breakfast and networking. Steve Cooper — former DHS and FAA CIO — will be speaking on “What’s the Big Deal with Big Data? What You Don’t Know Will Hurt You…” With Steve’s background running IT for large government organizations, he will be providing a uniquely government perspective on Big Data and the challenges associated with dealing with Big Data.

The agenda also includes a presentation of a real-life case study from the FAA’s Emergency Operations Network (EON), showing how they are able to rapidly ingest multi-structured data into a single unified repository and use this data to support emergency operations.

The FAA combined these rapidly changing, multiple sources of unstructured, semi-structured, and structured data by adopting an enterprise NoSQL database platform which eliminates the need to create a single schema or model the data. A MarkLogic spokesperson will provide further details about how our database platform works, including its fit with other technologies in a Big Data ecosystem.
