Lets meet up for Networking Drinks

Please note that the venue has now changes and will be held at the River Room in the Compleat Angler.  The River Room overlooks the river and hotel gardens, and opens onto a covered terrace.

Join us for networking drinks on Tuesday 1st July. You will have a great opportunity to meet new and old contacts in the tech industry in an informal atmosphere.  Previous meetings have resulted in many valuable connections and business opportunities.  There will be a wide spectrum of people including entrepreneurs, sales, marketing, technical, and service providers.

Why are corporate presentations so dull?

We’ve all sat through dull presentations. Probably hundreds of them. And we all know what we don’t like. Yet, despite this, we see the same thing time and time again:  tired openings, uninspiring visuals, and lacklustre closings.

Not any more.  In this workshop style presentation, Justin McCarthy will introduce a new approach to presenting that merges the drama of theatre with the science of rhetoric. Using extracts from his ground breaking course Extreme Presentation Skills Justin will give you a fast introduction to the art of storytelling, the value of vocal impact and power of rhetorical language.

If you rely on presenting to sell, influence and motivate, then this session will be invaluable.

About Justin McCarthy

After earning a degree in Engineering Science at Exeter University, Justin joined the graduate programme at Mars, Inc., where he built a reputation as a formidable technical designer.  Eventually a new young family persuaded Justin to reduce the time spent in hotels and find a role with a more reliable UK presence. So Justin joined Sybase, a US technology company,  to run their UK training business - a discipline he immediately fell in love with.

Justin has been in the training and coaching business ever since, and now runs Saxon Coaching, a training company that teaches advanced presentation skills to sales teams and conference speakers.  Justin is also a Trustee and Coach for the Executive Job Club, a charity helping executives and senior managers deal with redundancy.
