Thanks for the comments and looking forward to seeing you all again. Hope you can join L.L. Bean for a store clinic or another hike, ride or paddle! Remember the Parker Preserve has over 20 miles of marked trail for hiking, biking and dogs on leash!.....Glad to have had the opportunity to share the big chairs and beautiful day!

I enjoyed this hike. Great company, and a chance to get outside and burn some calories after all the bad weather we've been having!

Donna and I had a great time! Hope I didn't slow everyone down... this was my first hike over a couple miles since last year and I was a little stiff! Already looking forward to our next hike, just not sure which one yet!

This was a really great hike with a fun group. Nice weather and pretty scenery. The slippery snowy spots just added to the excitement :) Thanks Marsha for a nice Saturday morning outing!

Good morning Michael: Pets are not welcome on this particular L.L. Bean Hike. We scheduled a pet hike last year - perhaps we can do one again soon. I bring my dogs often to the preserve (on leash) when I am not with a group.

Just a reminder:Please let us know if you will not be attending so we can add hikers from a waiting list.
Waterproof hiking boots recommended as the trail could be flooded.

Marsha, Thanks for the info! One other question... getting there... follow the directions listed above on the link? That has a different address than in the title... Route 563 vs. Route 532. We don't want to be at the wrong place 9:30am Saturday! Thanks!

Carl: We will be modifying the trail due to flooding along first section but I am assuming it will be wet everywhere from the snow melt. We will be doing some walking on sandy roads as well as thru the woods along the branch of the Wading River. I would suggest waterproof hiking boots - if you need a new pair get ones that are comfortable from the start and do not need a break-in period. You might stop by Bean and try some Keen or other brands that suits you! See you on Saturday morning - looks like a beautiful day!

How wet are the wet areas? What kind of waterproof hiking boots do you suggest? We may need to go shopping!

Michael: Thanks for the inquire - pets are welcome on a leash at the preserve (if you want to venture out on your own - I hiked this am with my pooch- saw migratory ducks and 1 bald eagle) but for this particular meet-up we ask that you leave your pet at home as we may have participants who may not be comfortable with pets. Last season we did a dog friendly hike - we had 4 participants and 2 dogs! See you next weekend - Marsha
