The Friends of Black Run Preserve (FBRP) are having a trail maintenance day and need volunteer assistance. FBRP will provide clippers, loppers, safety glasses and gloves, but you can bring your own and if possible, bring wheelbarrows that will be greatly appreciated for specific tasks. You may need waterproof boots as well as drinking water and snacks. I haven't seen many insects yet, but you may want to bring insect repellent too.
This is a great natural area right here in Evesham Township that we are very fortunate to have and that is being carefully developed with hiking and biking trails among other endeavors. The Preserve is also a great place to go birding, geocaching, and to learn about nature. Your assistance in preserving this area is greatly appreciated.
When you get to the parking area, you will report to Joe Michiels, Trail Crew Manager or John Volpa. Please let them know that you are from the LLBean Outdoor Adventures. They will be making assignments for the tasks to be completed. As a member of the Friends of Black Run Preserve, I encourage you to come out and lend a hand. Unfortunately, I will be working in the store and cannot be there to help, so I need you to go in my stead. I'm sure you will find this very rewarding and if this area is new to you, you will find it a great place to visit to get back into nature!
Thank you for your help in this much needed task in partnership with the Friends of Black Run Preserve. Please contact me by email or post your questions on this announcement.
