Rockburn Branch Park and Patapsco State Park Loop! A Moderate 5.5 Mile Hike!
Active Seniors are Welcome!
A 450-acre park overshadowed by the monstrous nearby Patapsco Valley State Park, Rockburn Branch Park provides a wonderful place to hike with little foot traffic! Due to its proximity to adjacent Patapsco Valley State Park, Rockburn Branch Park often gets overlooked as a hiking destination, but lots of people take advantage of its lack of entrance fee and many amenities. Today, we will be enjoying both parks in this 5.5 mile moderate circuit hike. There are two minor stream crossings on this hike, but are almost always dried up in late fall and winter.

Please remember we hike the pace of the group and it can vary. We take breaks as necessary and have a guide in the front in addition to a "sweeper" in the back for each group of hikers and our guides/sweepers hike in teams which helps ensure that no hiker is left behind. If you get upset because someone has to rest at the top of a hill etc. then find another group! We are very supportive and encouraging with no pressure on speed but focus on safety while leaving no trace .

I thought this hike was on Feb 15th, I just realized that the hike was actually last friday. I'm sorry for this mistake on my part.
Thank you,

I certainly don't blame anyone for canceling because of the weather (the forecast was truly ominous) but, as it turned out, the weather wasn't much of an issue. We had a bit of light mist early on but it soon dissipated and we were left with cloudy skies, little breeze and seasonably warm temperatures. The stream was a bit high because of last week's heavy rain but we all made it without significant mishap. We were rewarded for our efforts with wonderful company, the trails to ourselves (not a single biker!), fond memories and some good photos.
Special thanks to Bill Peters for his efforts above and beyond the call of duty.

Thank you Bill for your effort to help me to find the place, this why I always carpool , I m really bad with directions .

It was slightly wet to start but turned out to be a great ending. I am so glad I chose to attend.
