Rockburn Branch Park and Patapsco State Park Loop! A Moderate 5.5 Mile Hike!
A 450-acre park overshadowed by the monstrous nearby Patapsco Valley State Park, Rockburn Branch Park provides a wonderful place to hike with little foot traffic! Due to its proximity to adjacent Patapsco Valley State Park, Rockburn Branch Park often gets overlooked as a hiking destination, but lots of people take advantage of its lack of entrance fee and many amenities. Today, we will be enjoying both parks in this 5.5 mile moderate circuit hike. There are two minor stream crossings on this hike, but are almost always dried up in late fall and winter.

Please remember we hike the pace of the group and it can vary. We take breaks as necessary and have a guide in the front in addition to a "sweeper" in the back for each group of hikers and our guides/sweepers hike in teams which helps ensure that no hiker is left behind. If you get upset because someone has to rest at the top of a hill etc. then find another group! We are very supportive and encouraging with no pressure on speed but focus on safety while leaving no trace .
A Leashed FIDO is Welcome on This Hike!

My apologies to the group for being late this morning. I hoped I would catch up with you but it wasn’t to be. I hiked from Rockburn Branch Park to Patapsco, yellow trail to blue Cascade Falls to the swinging bridge and back. I’ll be sure to be on time for the next hike.

If you are on the wait list and would like to go on the hike, you will get an e-mail as slots are available. It is a “first come first serve” for available slots. Open slots are open to everyone whether on the wait list or not, but the wait list will insure you are notified of open slots as well as letting me know to look for another leader if the hike can handle it. Click here for how to get off the wait list and RSVP “yes”, http://www.midatlantichiking.co...
