Easy 3 Miles in Rockburn Branch Park!

Pace Options
We break down into groups no larger than 15 hikers per leader/sweep team for a more enjoyable experience for all of us and is better for the environment as well. Large groups really take away from the hiking experience. This also allows us to offer you a variety of hike paces and for this particular hike you have 2 to choose from (yes, even on this after work mid-week hike) which allows you to be put together with those of a similar pace so you will not rushed or slowed down and can hike what is comfy for you. Paces should be not only based on your preference but your ability needs to be taken into consideration.
Pace Option 1: A "walk in the woods" or "social" pace which is great for those who want to soak up the nature and will be about 2.0mph or whatever speed our group settles into but this is the pace for newbie hikers.
Pace Option 2: A moderate pace of about 2.5mph which is the speed of the average hiker!
PLEASE put your pace preference in your RSVP so we can plan accordingly
Step Off Time is 3:00 p.m.

Directions to Where We Meet for The Hike
Click Here for Driving Directions to where we meet.
Please remember we hike the pace of the group and it can vary. We take breaks as necessary and have a guide in the front in addition to a "sweeper" in the back for each group of hikers and our guides/sweepers hike in teams which means that no hiker is left behind. If you get upset because someone has to rest at the top of a hill etc. then please find another group! We are very supportive and encouraging with no pressure on speed but focus on safety while leaving no trace .
Please note that our holiday and holiday weekend hikes are not refundable due to too many people backing out of the at the last minute before the refund cut-off. Sorry, but this is the only way to help make sure that there is a good turnout and our leaders not offer to lead a hike on their holiday in vein...or they will be burned enough that they will no longer offer. Since we have made holiday hikes non-refundable it has boosted attendance rate significantly and often have perfect attendance, yay! Thanks so much for your understanding.
Fido is welcome on this hike!
Be sure to bring my number which is listed below in case you have any difficulty locating the parking lot.

I think I must not have accessed correct directions. The link provided landed me randomly at a street corner near Ellicott City. I used my GPS to find the park, but I never found the group. I was disappointed, but found a beautiful trail, Cascade Falls, and hiked there by myself. I wish I had had someone's cell phone number. Not a great start for a newbie, but I''ll try again.

Just letting everyone know that Kellie is leading the social pace and Mike the moderate pace if there is a need for both:) See you tomorrow...
