George Washington National Forest: Pond Run and Halfmoon Lookout: A Strenuous 13.9 Mile Hike!

"From its start on Waites Run, this circuit climbs some 1300+ feet at times on a steep and rough footway, for 2.5 miles along Pond Run, then takes a side trip to an old fire tower site on Halfmoon Lookout. We will also trek along Racer Camp Hollow and Wilson Cove taking the Tuscarora Trail to a saddle between Sugar Knob and Little North Mountain. The trail is steep and rough at times so this is only for experienced hikers.

Fido is Welcome on this Hike only with prior approval from the hike leader due to hike difficulty for dogs.
