Patapsco Valley State Park Hike and Picnic! This Hike Has it All!
Enjoy the Granite-Woodstock Area Trails! A Moderate 8 Miles With An Easy 6 Mile Bailout Option Plus A Picnic Lunch On the Trail!
Post Hike Libations and Camaraderie at
The Woodstock Inn!
A remote area that truly is a hidden gem! We will make a loop in a section of Patapsco Valley State Park on trails that take us over moderate, yet rewarding, terrain. While many developed areas inside Patapsco Valley State Park provide amenities for family outings, camping, and picnics, lucky for us the state park also offers huge tracts where you’re on your own as we will enjoy today. Since the area for this hike runs through unmaintained areas of the state park, it promises solitude, peace, and wildlife.

Leashed Fido is Welcome on This Hike!
Please remember we are a social hiking group that values fellowship and camaraderie and practice good hike etiquette. We take breaks as necessary and have at least one guide in the front in addition to a "sweeper" in the back which means that no hiker is left behind. If you get upset because someone has to rest at the top of a hill etc. then please find another group! We are very supportive, encouraging, and focus on safety while getting or staying fit on the trail and practicing Leave No Trace outdoor ethics.
Let's have good times and see you on the trail!
PLEASE take the leaders phone number with you in case you have any difficulty locating our group...
