Work hard indoors. Play hard outdoors. I travel a lot for work and miss many opportunities for outdoor and social downtime during the week. Looking for good hikes and people, but not by the bus load like some of the hiking clubs in the area.
Searched for "hiking" groups on Meet-Up. Also heard about it on a recent hike with Wanderbirds
Seeking strenuous day hikes with some special "reward" goal like a beautiful view. 12-20 miles in length with around 3,000 feet elevation gain. Also looking for a smaller group size than the buses and the company of hearty souls. Also interested in possibility of backpacking or going on group travel to hike in other parts of the country or world. Looking for adventure outdoors before I have to go back office/airport/customer sites/hotels all week. BTW, my photo is me at the summit of Mt Lincoln (I think) a 14er in Colorado. It was a race against the potential lightning from those beautiful gathering clouds in the background. Just sayin'...
