Introduction

My name is Nathan, I live and work in the Silver Spring, MD area. I enjoy outdoors like running, cycling and walking. I am very active running 3 to 4 times a week for about 7 miles each time.

How did you discover this meetup?

Searching for a hiking group in the Washington metro area on the web.

What are you looking for out of this group? (walks, transition from walking to hiking, easy, moderate, or strenuous hikes, ultra hiking, or trail maintenance work?) Please state all that applies to help me plan activities to meet your needs...

I have a very active lifestyle. I workout 3 to 4 times a week including running, walking, cycling and swimming. I have done very long walks in the park (Rock Creek Park) and Sligo park, however I have never tested myself with hiking around difficult trails and mountains. I would like to start with a moderate hiking experience and see myself how perform, and may be elivated to more challenging hiking experience.

  • Oh hey Nathan, sorry I missed your question, I didn't see it. Regarding your question about the length of our rides, you see the way I lead rides is not just to ride to the destination through boring highways that will just tempt you to speed and get caught by the speed traps, but through clean, traffic free backroads. I normally find the most challenging curvy roads. In my opinion, blasting through highways is too easy and no longer fun for me, I prefer the backroad twisties and scenic routes.
