I'm interested in breaking in the new hiking boots I bought last year and meeting new friends.
I searched for active groups at my new location.
I would like to meet and make new friends and improve my fitness.

Hey Mary, we do organize trips to Spa World, the Korean spa in Centreville, VA. You should join us next time!
We have lots of great events coming up in January at http://www.DCadventurers.com![]()
to get outside, see new perspectives and make new friends.
See you tomorrow at the meditation event!

P.S. If you’re thinking about joining our March trip to Morocco, I encourage you to attend the One Night in Casablanca dinner on Jan 19 to learn more about the trip.
Glad to hear your comments, Mary!
Welcome to the group, Mary! I hope you will come to a meeting soon. The women who have been coming are so insightful, well-read, and kind. We are an eclectic group of professional women, so the conversations veer in many thought-provoki
ng directions. I think you will really like the group. Hope to meet you soon!

Thanks Mary for signing up for my Park Skating Party, which is followed by a dance party at a bar a couple of blocks away. I am expecting 30 people to come even though they mostly refuse to RSVP on Meetup. Weather forecast looks good!
Actually, you can skate straight down a hill, but you have to pedal instead of coasting.
On facebook, over 50 people have RSVP'ed already for Skate DC Weekend. Most of our skaters are not cooperating with Meetup.com yet.
Just saw you won't be going to Skate DC Weekend. It is okay to try it on a bike if you are not sure you want to skate the routes. I will lead a nearly hill-free easy 7.5 mile route beginning at 10:30 pm on Friday, May 20th. I made it easy so my roller derby friends can handle it on old-style quad skates. The cone competition in Georgetown on Saturday afternoon will also be fun to watch.
Hi Mary Parker! Welcome to our group, the Washington Area Roadskaters! Do not miss the fun on our Skate DC weekend on May 20-22, 2011. Many out-of-town skaters will be there, too.
The Saturday free stopping lessons have begun. If that is not enough, private lesson providers are listed at skatedc.org under the resources tab. Have a friend in shoes nearby to catch you until you get good at stopping. Usually people figure out the heel brake after two or three lessons and then it works great.
