I called the Governor's office about this issue.  I just got the standard "we'll let the Governor know" response.
 
I also wrote an op-ed piece about this to the Columbia Flier.  Unfortunately, it didn't get printed.  But maybe they'll put it in this week.

    I'm on the same commission with John and the last meeting is the 16th.  Our chances of "persuading" DNR are slim and none as I see it but I am attaching the "white paper" I submitted to them for you.  We will need to go to the Governor -- and pray his "mute swan" ear is better than his black bear ear.  Take care, Joe
