UPDATE: Protest Against Michael Vick's Receiving the Ed Block Courage Award - Only a Week Away!

Michael Vick protest at Ed Block dinner - 8 days away!

My caring friends,

We are now approaching crunch time! I appeal to you all for your help now in varying degrees.

First, of course, is to join us next Tuesday night, March 9th. Below is the link to our RSVP on Facebook:

I will be in place by 4pm. Baltimore County police are aware we will be holding a "powerful by peaceful" demonstration. We have one large banner, and will be handing out purple awareness ribbons to attendees to show their support for "no more animal abuse". Please feel free to make signs, wear Tshirts, and bring other expressions of how saddened we are that the Ed Block Foundation and the NFL persist in calling Michael Vick a courageous example to the public.

Even if you are, or are not coming, there are still things you can do to help... I am working to have respected organizations be represented there with us. I do know that Maryland Votes for Animals will be there. Please contact other organzations you know have already taken a stand - Baltimore Anti Abuse Task Force, the AKC, ASPCA, PETA - as well as the small ones we have not heard from, and encourage them to send their support. All it takes is one person allowed to stand and announce they are there on behalf of that organization. Let's show the world that it's not crazy animal people crying out against this atrocity - it's companies and NFL fans and nonprofits that are all saddened by how a sadistic animal killer can be called courageous without doing anything that doesn't benefit himself or be required by the terms of his parole.

We will be in place by 4pm. I will be onsite all day. Is anyone actually attending the dinner? I have considered going inside to help further but I feel my place is outside with all of you.

Talk to people, talk to everyone! Send emails and make phone calls. Get us this organizational support. Contact any and all media about our being there. Let's show Ed Block and the NFL how we feel right down to the end!

Please contact me via email at [address removed]. Help us help the animals that can still be saved!

Warmest regards,
Darlene Sanders Harris
