Presented by The Office Media Professionals, Vibewrangler Studios and Hamilton Seen
Social Media Day is a world-wide celebration of social media. Social media has changed our lives. It has not only changed the way we communicate, but the way we connect with one another, consume our news, conduct our work, organize our lives, and much more. So why not celebrate? We have answered the call to action and are assembling next Wednesday June 30th at Vibewrangler Studios to celebrate the revolution in human communications happening around the globe.
The evening promises to be both entertaining and informative with ten presentations of five minutes each. While there will be bona fide social media experts and techno-geeks capable of informing participants where we are heading, we will also hear from those who have used social media effectively to promote community issues, political agendas and consumer campaigns.
Doors open at 7:00pm with presentations starting at 7:30pm, moderated by Simon Geoghegan of Epiphany Coaching.
This is a FREE event but advance registration is required here at the Meetup page or at the facebook event page: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=126998720663858&...![]()
Cash bar and light refreshments will be served.
Dress: Business casual
Musical performance by Carolyna Loveless and DJ Johnny Angel spinning 78s.
Parking is available on Gage and Cumberland Avenues and side-streets

Richard Birney-Smith
Richard Birney-Smith has lived in Dundas for forty-three years. During that time he has been Thalia’s husband, Noëlle & Monique's dad, grandfather three-times, organist, harpsichordist, orchestral & choral conductor, composer, broadcast musician, and recording artist. He is currently working as a home-business developer: training people to be successfully self-employed.

Fast forward, and today he demystifies Social Media for companies seeking successful marketing integration. James is also a published author and the founder of Business Fusion Marketing.
Karen Burson
After first cooking in England several years ago, I worked in IT (shudder), became a personal chef/caterer, then a Manager with Goodness Me! and later created Sky Dragon’s Bread & Roses Café. The very simple answer is we follow the principal that ROI is king in marketing. We do that by leveraging online and offline marketing strategies for clients in very cool and remarkable ways.
Barry Forth
Barry has been the General Manager of Copetown Woods Golf Club for the past 8 years and this past winter took on the role as Chair of Kraft Hockeyville in Dundas. The first time Mike sat at his brothers Commodore 64 and had his first online chat -- Green text on a black screen -- with a friend around the corner, he knew his life would revolve around digital communications. Mike currently holds a position at LinxSmart Inc. growing their business, and those of their clients through business development, social media, SEO application, organizing online campaigns and website plans. Mike's main focus as of late is finding commercial uses for social media that work.

Being the only Registered Lobbyist in Hamilton I find this initiative may have wings to take flight, something Angels and Airplanes have in common. Imagine that.
Posted by Mark-Alan Whittle June 15, 2010 at 2:36 PMSocial media and the advent of the internet as pervasive infrastructure is the sole reason i am able to have a totally independent and international music career. Building a social networking platform, working it daily, closely monitoring analytics to find my actual market and shopping directly to that market, has made it so my business is now an international production house. Sales and work come from countless markets on 4 continents.
