For all of you taking the TTC get off @ Spadina Station and walk out from the BLOOR LINE exit. There is a parking lot which the Madison backs onto right outside those exits (on the east side of the Spadina)...
For all those driving to the Madison there is a bit of street parking on Spadina and there is the aformentioned Green P parking lot right behind the Madison.

Would have loved to quaff some craft beer at C'est What but I'm sure the Maddy has some tasty pints. @kglobos

@Dan Levy, sorry about my late response Dan, I was unable to contact Mr. Cashmore. Sounds like you have things rolling. I don't need to consult the Madison about tripod access, as I wasn't planning on bringing any gear to cover the event. A few producers have expressed interest in the event. We'll see where it goes. Also one other thing. Along with the broadcasting of the livestream there will be a video from Pete Cashmore to be played. I noticed a couple of photo/video people are involved in the meetup can one of you guys email me so we can arrange a setup with the Madison and so we arent all huddled around a laptop screen...there is 147 of us 'interested'.

Hey all I know Bilal Jaffery would like to speak and anyone else who does please message me (dan.e.levy at gmail) with topic and amount of time you'd want so I can figure out a schedule. Andy's idea on a 10 minute time limit is a good one but I would still like to get a rough estimate. @Bram Berk if previous times I have been there with a reservation are any indication they will send us to the "Party Room" which is all the way on the top floor. They may not though because we have so many people...if they do I was there Saturday and it gets HOT up there...y'all have been warned! LOL

I don't know if this has already been asked but where in the MAZE of the maddy will people be congregating ? And how do I possibly start up a conversation with someone ? I mean how do I know who is there for this Vs. who is just there for a random drink?

@Bill Colbary What say Mr. Cashmore? ...@Daniel Silver shouldnt be a problem as far as I'm concerned. As no one in the group has voiced any concerns with it I am guessing everyone is OK with it. As to tripod access I suggest you call the Madison and ask them.

Also people might I make a suggestion that if/when you decide to follow someone from this group on Twitter you @mention them to let them know who you are (and youre from this group) we all get the random twitter followers all day every day I am sure and it is good to know who's a legit person to bother checking if we should follow them back

@Dan: I was planning on doing up a template with a combo of Meetup.com, Mashable and Social Media Day logos adjacent to a big "Hello My Name Is" (like you suggested). I'll have a mock up for you guys later today - I'm picking up the lanyards this morning. :)

...conversation should be organic I think...maybe we can try to get a Canadian bigwig or two to speak...as well as the people who've already offered. Maybe we can discuss social media as customer service or marketing and IF it customer service is even marketing or is it operations...props Andy ;)

I work for traditional media outlets in the city, I'd like to pitch coverage of our event to some if the quirkier show producers that I know would find it useful to tech savy viewers.
Any one opposed to this?

I completely agree with Katie in this instance, Lets focus on getting the bodies there, the rest should take care of its self. I mean we are social marketers, if we cant carry dialogue socially, what good are we? :)

Cubicle/desk-suitable swag from Mashable would be great. :) If we can't get enough for everyone (which is likely), perhaps we could do it door prize style?

Great idea Bill! I don't really want to narrow it down too much. I like the idea of keeping this open and organic... letting the people create the conversation of choice.

Wow those are great ideas! I love the idea of making this a regular group thing esp as we may not be attracting everyone because June 30 is right before the Canada Day weekend (a lot of ppl taking off Fri the 2nd so they can leave the city Wed night)

What if someone made a template of a nametage (I could) and then everyone wear a lanyard where it could be inserted? that way everyone is identifiable??? thoughts?
