The G-everyone Meetup View details →

    88 communities and 240 members

This June, world leaders are gathering for the G-8 Summit, and we’re inviting you to gather as part of the global launch of G-everyone: an opportunity to share your solutions for addressing some of the world's biggest challenges. For more info, visit: http://on.mash.to/12H0bA7

Mashable and partners will launch this 24-hour digital convening on June 10, the eve of the G-8 Summit. The G-everyone dialogue will provide an open discussion around the G-8’s core themes of open economies, open governments and open societies.

Our goal is to bring the connected generation into the conversation. We encourage you to organize or attend a Mashable Meetup in your own hometown and discuss three big questions:

    1. How can innovation stimulate your local economy?
    2. How can technology make your government more open?
    3. How can online communities help build healthier societies? You can share your Meetup group's answers through an exciting new community called +SocialGood. It will be launching to the public in the coming days, but you can get a sneak peak at www.plussocialgood.org. You can also share your feedback via the #Geveryone hashtag on Twitter, Vine and Instagram. Mashable will feature the best ideas on Mashable.com.

We will gather global data from the G-everyone Meetups through +SocialGood and report back on the themes and ideas emerging around the world. The initial G-everyone themes will be shared at a series of high-level meetings in London during the G-8. Sign up for a meet up now, or organize your own, and let your voice be heard!

The G-everyone Meetup is brought to you by the Social Good Summit partners: Mashable, 92nd Street Y, the United Nations Foundation, the United Nations Development Progamme and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Mashable Media Summit Meetup View details →

    111 communities and 264 members

When it comes to the future of media, the possibilities are endless and a number of questions arise: How will we consume news and information? Can media companies be sustained? Is print truly dead?

We're thrilled to invite the Mashable community to organize or attend a post-Mashable Media Summit breakdown to discuss the lessons learned there about the future of media.

The Meetup will take place on November 16th, 2011, about two weeks after the Media Summit itself. We hope to inspire reflection on how technological advancements in media will not only change the world but also affect you on a personal level.

Here are a few topics the Mashable Media Summit that we think would make great Meetup ideas:

    Reinventing journalism with social reporting
Advancing the relationship between news organizations and their communities
Reinvigorating advertising and creating new business models
Changing the way we consume media and entertainment
Redefining the way we view privacy and our senses of self

Feel free to talk about these ideas or your own. Your Mashable Media Summit Meetup can take just about any shape you?d like, depending on what best suits your community.

We look forward to seeing your Mashable Media Summit Meetup plans!
