Introduction

Geocaching is always a little more fun with extra eyes and "caching" instincts in play. New to area with most of my caching experience coming in California. "BezNRexx" is my handle (shared with my wife, Janet).

How long have you been geocaching?

Hardcore when I started in the summer of '04 and went steady through early '06 but rarely go anymore. Too many negative experiences in a short period of time put out the fire.

rodney thanks for joining Nor *Cal Hikers. i am with you on the small groups thing. i started this club just so i could get just one or two other friends out with me and it has turned into this. i think it has evolved quite nicely.

while we are obviously expanding our member count, i have yet to be on a hike with more than 8 NCH hikers. well a couple outings with a herd, but those were not NCH affiliated hikes....

What is geocaching?

Geocaching is an outdoor activity in which the participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers (called "geocaches" or "caches") anywhere in the world. A typical cache is a small waterproof container (usually a tupperware or ammo box) containing a logbook. Larger containers can also contain items for trading, usually toys or trinkets of little value. Geocaching is most often described as a "game of high-tech hide and seek", sharing many aspects with orienteering, treasure-hunting, and waymarking.

About this group

Even though this group was established in 2009, it has been abandoned by two previous Organizers. I took over the group in February 2010 because I did not want to see the group disappear. The few events we've had have been successful. I am always looking for event hosts. If you are interested in leading an event, send me a message and I can add the event for you. We look forward to meeting you!
