What communication and/or leadership goals do you have for yourself?

My communication goal is to become a polished and effective public speaker. To accomplish this goal, I joined Maverick Toastmasters in July of 2012. I chose Maverick as my Toastmaster club for their laid back atmosphere and helpful members. They get everything done on time but don’t take themselves too seriously. The Toastmaster program is helping me to become a more effective speaker. What I didn’t expect was to also learn to become a better reviewer, listener, improvisational speaker, and to improve my time management skills. The only downside is that more people are not in Toastmasters. As a result, I spend a lot of time biting my tongue to stop myself from reviewing the speeches outside of Toastmasters.

I have been a Maverick Toastmaster since July of 2012. I really enjoy going to this club every week. The Toastmaster program is really helping me become a better public speaker.
