Introduce yourself

I believe there's more to life than an unfulfilling career in a cubicle. The problem? I don't know what it looks like. For nearly 6 years I've been successful with insurance sales but I want to move in another direction. I am a type watcher and have found this to be invaluable. I'm hoping life coaching helps, too.

What do you hope to get out of this group?

I'm trying to learn to think outside my own box. I'd like to see what's out there and learn from other people's experiences, interpret these in my own way, and ultimately formulate a new paradigm. How do other people effectively manage their lives?

Introduction

I want to succeed and not look back with regret. I'm working on defining my vision, what it is I want. Ambition is the easy part. I have to know where I'm going first.

What Paul is saying about this Meetup Group

This was the first meeting and I'm looking forward to the next one already. Nature of discussion lends itself to a smaller size where more individual attention is available. I can see this group potentially splitting into two sessions, depending upon growth. Subject matter is particularly relevant in this economy where so many people are limited to work they find unnecessarily stressful and unfulfilling. It doesn't always have to be this way. Playing with possibilities takes the edge off the dreaded Monday morning commute. We owe it to ourselves to daydream a little and entertain thoughts of, and make plans toward, what ultimately might be a better fit. Thoughts and discussion like this put you back in the driver's seat, optimistic at the open road ahead, and take a detour around what I hate most: feeling trapped.
