Tom's Thumb Loop

This 12-mile hike includes steep, sustained climbs to gain an elevation of 2,500 feet on the Gateway, Windgate Pass, East End and Tom’s Thumb trails, and features stunning views and fascinating rock formations along the way. The McDowell Sonoran Conservancy is a non-profit conservation organization that relies on more than 400 volunteers to help protect and promote the McDowell Sonoran Preserve.  We do this in so many ways- from trail building to patrolling the trails, guiding hikes, education, and research.

We need your help!  The Preserve is growing by 10 square miles in the next year and we need volunteers to help keep the Preserve protected. Sign up today at www.mcdowellsonoran.org

Dogs are welcome in the Preserve but only service dogs are permitted on guided hikes.

The weather doesn't look good for Saturday AM for this long of a hike. Anyone up for hiking Sunday AM instead? Forecast is for more sun then. Sun-day, makes sense.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
