Lifecycle of a Saguaro

A 4½-mile discovery hike which follows the growth of the Saguaro cactus from seed to skeleton, including some 200 year old specimens and many with multiple arms. Allow 3 hours. Meet at Lost Dog Wash Trailhead by 7:15 a.m. Appropriate for ages 10 and older.

The McDowell Sonoran Conservancy is a non-profit conservation organization that relies on more than 400 volunteers to help protect and promote the McDowell Sonoran Preserve.  We do this in so many ways- from trail building to patrolling the trails, guiding hikes, education, and research.

We need your help!  The Preserve is growing by 10 square miles in the next year and we need volunteers to help keep the Preserve protected. Sign up today at www.mcdowellsonoran.org

Dogs are welcome in the Preserve but only service dogs are permitted on guided hikes.
