Architecture and the Desert

A 5-mile hike that climbs to a scenic saddle overlooking Taliesin West, the Frank Lloyd Wright architectural complex. One sustained incline, but gentle grades otherwise. Allow 3.5 hours. Appropriate for ages 10 and up with hiking experience. Please arrive at the Lost Dog Wash trailhead by 7:45 a.m.

Dogs are welcome in the Preserve but only service dogs are permitted on guided hikes.

    Architecture and the Desert hike was very informative. Great way for newcomers to learn about the McDowells. Hike was easy. Bathrooms were being rebuilt. Porta potties aren't so great.
