Fire and Frost

See how the opposites of fire and frost impact the desert landscape on a short foothills hike in the McDowell Mountain Regional Park. This 5-mile hike along the Scenic Trail will last approximately 3 hours. Arrive at the trailhead staging area by 7:45 a.m. to get there take Shea Blvd east to Fountain Hills Blvd. Go north on Fountain Hills Blvd. for about 7.5 miles and follow the signs to the park. There is a $6 per vehicle admission charge to the park. Appropriate for ages 8 and up with hiking experience.

Dogs are welcome in the Preserve but only service dogs are permitted on guided hikes.

    Sorry to miss the group. I couldn't find u guys so tawny and I hiked on pemberton trail ourselves. My cell lacked good signal to GPS find your spot.
