Dixie Mine

A 7-mile hike to a former mining site on the east edge of the McDowell Mountains, this hike has little net elevation change, but lots of ups and downs. There will be a brief discussion of the mine's history when we arrive at the site. Allow 3 hours.

Dogs are welcome in the Preserve but only service dogs are permitted on guided hikes.

There is a $3 entrance fee at the trail head.

David did an awesome job of leading this hike - very knowledgeable and kept a good steady pace. First time on this hike for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it as did both my guests! It's worth taking the short trek to see the petroglyphs as well.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
