What books have you read (and loved) that you wished you could share with a book club?

Too many to name. I love the old classic favorites (Austen, Bronte sisters, etc.) but also enjoy comparing styles & themes of popular writers (e.g. C.S. Lewis & Tolkien), looking at how different authors write about legends, myths, etc. (e.g., Mary Stewart's Merlin books, different "takes" on vampires . . . ) or just looking at books vs. the movies/shows made from them (e.g., Game of Thrones series).

What are you reading now?

Because I'm both an old movie fan and an avid reader, I recently decided I'd like to read the original stories behind some of my favorite films. Many works by James Hilton were made into movies (e.g. "Goodbye Mr. Chips), yet I'd never read anything by him; so I'm currently reading "Random Harvest" because that's one of my all-time favorite movies. I'm also reading "My Cousin Rachel" by Daphne Du Maurier, who wrote "The Birds," "Rebecca," and other novels that were made into films.

Fun lady w/eclectic tastes, interests & talents. Love lively conversation over great coffee and/or food. Recent transplant to Dallas, so hoping to meet new friends. Mom of kids w/special needs, Farmers Insurance Agent, avid reader, singer, & more!
