RESPONSIBLE TREKKING in NEPAL
Every hiker’s dream - to trek in Nepal. Exotic Kathmandu with its golden temples, fluttering prayer flags and chants of Buddhist monks… Trek past green terraced fields… Overnight at guest lodges in ethnic villages… Stand in awe at Himalayan peaks. As good as all that sounds, it might just pale in comparison to the warmth and friendliness of the Nepalese people. Joe Staiano, ‘Responsible Travel Meetup’ organizer, and founder of Meaningful Trip, has explored 75+ countries throughout his 2-decade career in responsible travel. He’ll answer your questions on: visas, conditioning, weather, seasons, food, water and more. He’ll give examples of responsible treks that support Save the Children and EWN, Empowering Women of Nepal, who trains disadvantaged rural women of Nepal to be female trekking guides – the first of their kind!

FUN! What a fantastic Sunday sitting at Panera, meeting interesting and friendly people and chit-chatting about responsible travel. It was like the UN.. with people's heritages coming from: Somalia, India, Egypt, Japan and USA. We talked about different cultural feast-days around the world. Would love to see a future POTLUCK party where everyone brings a dish from their homeland.
