Celebration of Mid-Autumn Moon Festival with Vegan Potluck Picnic

What's coming up is the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival.   It is the second largest festival for Chinese, a time for family and friends to gathered together, sitting/lying on the lawn, appreciating the beauty of the full moon and the nature around, enjoying the taste of the moon cakes, fruits, etc..

Thanks Nancy for offering her kitchen beforehand so that simple dishes can be prepared (Shara and a few members will be there around 3pm).  Do let Shara[masked] know if you want to come earlier to prepare food.

Suggested items to be brought: fruits, vegan moon cakes, camera, lanterns with batteries.

How to go there: (Location map with transportation directions)

I am bad at posting comments on the page, this is way late but I just want to say I really enjoyed everyone's company, the food was awesome and the fellowship too. I agree we need more potlucks and RECIPE SHARING! Thanks again!

No problem Shara! What kind of cooking utensils do you need? If I don't have it I can ask my neighbors but let me know soon because they are going out with their families.

a big cooking pot, a frying pan and a few large steel strainers would be enough

Nancy, I am coming with a few member and arriving around 3pm for food preparation. Dishes are simple and easy to prepare. They are Vietnamese rice noodle and no-fry spring roll, Chinese cucumber salad. Mushroom and tofu puffs (Shanghai style). All can be done in less than an hour.

Lanters are ok, preferably no "fire" but electric. Flashlights are welcome and useful but most importantly INSECT REPELLENT.

Your connection is not Hang Hau, it's Tseung Kwan O. Take exit C which takes you through the shopping center to the bus terminal. There you can take 103m get off at Hong Kong Adventist College better know as Sam yuk.
From Hang Hau you can take a green taxi is about 35 HKD. Good price for a full taxi.
Looking forward to a fun filled picnic!

Hello! This will be my first veggie meet-up, I'm looking forward to it already :) I was just wondering if anyone knows the best public transport to take from Hang Hau MTR, unless there's a bus that goes straight from Central? Or if anyone else will be travelling from Central/ Admiralty and wants to go together?
