I, too, am grateful for the lesson. This is another reason why I am a member of a 9/12 TP group, to learn the truth about issues that are vital to our country and its citizens!

I agree Wayne. I
just have one small correction to what you said.
A person doesn't need a federal license to own a fully automatic weapon. You must (1) Live in one of the 40 states that have no restrictions on owning a machine gun, and not have any legal restrictions that would prevent you from owning a gun. (2) Fill out duplicate BATF Form[masked] forms with attached fingerprint cards singed by a local Chief of Police, County Prosecutor, or County Judge with a statement saying they are not aware of any restrictions that should prevent you from owning a machine gun. (3) Submit the forms and fingerprint cards and $200 for a federal tax stamp to the BATF for processing. (4) The BATF forwards the information to the FBI for a criminal background check. (5) When finished the FBI returns their findings to the BATF. If there are no problems they process the sale of the machine gun and update the federal registry of private machine gun owners to make you the new owner.
(6) They attach the Federal Tax Stamp to one of the[masked] forms you submitted, and return the form to you as proof that you are now the legal owner of that machine gun. (7) You can now pick up your gun from the previous owner because by law he must turn it over to you in a timely manner because you are now the registered owner of the machine gun.
In short, you aren't licensed to own a machine gun, you are registered. Buy the way, in all of the years since the above process became law in 1934 under the National Firearms Act, there have only been THREE instances of a legally owned machine gun being used in a crime. And there are about a half million privately owned Machine Guns in the United States.
The term Class 3 is a type of SOT (Special Occupational Taxpayer) These are people who are licensed by the federal government to deal in automatic weapons – weapons covered by the NFA (National Firearms Act). The NFA
was very first federal gun control legislation that restricted sales of machineguns and other types of weapons. Back in 1934 Congress new it could not ban private machinegun ownership because of the 2nd Amendment, so instead they heavily regulated their sale.
The three types of SOT licenses are:
Class 1, importer of NFA firearms.
Class 2, manufacturer and dealer of NFA firearms.
Class 3, dealer of NFA firearms.

This is a little firearms refresher information for Barack Obama, Eric Holder, Diane Feinstein, Sherrod Brown and all of the other progressive idiots in the government who either don't get it or, more than likely, don't want to get
An assault rifle is a rifle that has a selector switch that allows the user to choose between semi-automatic fire and fully-automatic fire. That's it. That's the definition. Forget all of that gargage about folding stocks and bayonet lugs and detachable magazines that the Feds try to cloud the issue with. And unless a firearms buyer has a Class 3 license they cannot be purchased because they are all ex-military guns except for the very earliest Thompson sub-machine guns. No one can
just walk into a gun shop or go to a gun show and buy a Class 3 weapon without that license....including all Tommy Guns now. On the other hand any qualified buyer can purchase an AR-15 or an AK look-a-like rifle. An AR-15 is not an M-16 or an M-4. An AR-15 justs looks like one of those military rifles. It's the same thing with the AK style rifles. They are not AK-47's. There are even manufacturers in the U.S. who make AK style rifles now. People buy AR-15's and AK look-a-likes because they superficially look like the military rifles they are intended to resemble. I just wish the boobs in the Federal
Government and the boobs in the mainstream news media would get those points straight before they go attaching a loaded word like "assault" to a riflle or anything else just because it furthers their agenda all-the-while obfuscating the truth of the matter.
Using the standards of the anti-gun anti-Second Amendment authoritarian nitwits who inhabit the White House, Congress and the Justice Dept. the .22 caliber semi-auto rifle I own is also an assault rifle because it's not only semi-auto, but it (GASP!) also has a detachable high capacity clip.
This just proves that looks can be deceiving. Case in point >>>> What with living in the White House, transportation provided to him by Air Force One, security provided to him by the Secret Service, a speaker's podium adorned with the seal of the President of the United States then superficially Barack Obama resembles any of our past presidents who were law-abiding defenders of liberty. Those men preserved and conserved the Constitution and the heritage and traditions handed down to them by those who came before them.
It's just that Obama is missing the selector switch
that allows him to turn off his narcissistic, petty, vindictive political venality that forces him to blindly implement his own destructive Marxist agenda at the cost of our individual freedoms and pursuit of happiness. Freedoms fought for and won by men better than he will ever be. That selector switch he lacks would allow him to replace his narcissism with humility, modesty and honesty. Honesty!!!!....now there's something Obama should try for a change. Who knows? He might get to like it if he ever tried it........Nope! Forget it. Obama don't roll that way and never will.
A true leader isn't a credit hog. A true leader elevates those who work for him even if it's
at his own expense because a true leader is gracious....and no one will ever describe Barack Obama as gracious. A true leader doesn't have to grasp for power that hasn't been delegated to him. A true leader knows when to serve and when to be served....and puts the emphasis on the "to serve" part.
We're stuck for another four years with a demagogue who revels in the turmoil he creates because the people who vote for a living now outnumber the people who work for a living and Obama is just the right guy to exploit that turmoil to the max.
